The Liturgical Transformation of Political Community
Back in 2008, when I was a stuck-up postgraduate student with no filter, a conference paper was born.
The conference paper sought to lay out the mechanics of a liturgical political transformation, using the cultural hermeneutics of Graham Ward as a theoretical backdrop, and the liturgical work of William Cavanaugh as my main foil.
Over the next decade and a half, I sought to make further refinements to the paper, with the aim of more intentionally engaging one of Richard Linklater’s most critical works in Critical Theory, The Transformation of Political Community. This was then submitted to the journal Political Theology.
The peer review process was instrumental in helping me make some further refinements which I hope makes the article more helpful than it originally was.
I am now pleased to say that Political Theology have published my article, entitled “The Liturgical Transformation of Political Community”.
Happily, the article is also now available as an open access article, so you can read the article in full by clicking here.
