New Podcast: Awkward Asian Theologians
Happy New Year, everyone! Welcome to 2025!
I am happy to announce that we will begin the year strong with a new phase in the Awkward Asian Theologian project.
When I began AAT five years ago, I intended the project to be more than a blog, but also a platform for theological content that will one day encompass both text and audio. Be that as it may, I was not in a position to diversity beyond the blog, so I decided to focus my energies on one outlet, and I hope that has meant for you as the reader that the content has remained of high quality.
In those five years, so much has changed, and the new role as well as new town has given me the space to expand the project into the land of podcasting. But no one would want to hear me droning on my own (not least of all myself).
On whim, I reached out to my friend Daniel Ang, Director of the Sydney Centre of Evangelisation in the Archdiocese of Sydney, to see if he would like to host a show together. As providence would have it, he had the same idea.
I am pleased to announce as of this week, the launch of our new podcast Awkward Asian Theologians.
The podcast will drop half-hour episodes every second and fourth Friday of the month. Like the blog, the podcast is an intentional project to fill what I think is a persistent gap of bringing academic theology to lived experience, and do so from a distinctly Asian standpoint.
Our first episode just dropped on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. We will also be listing our episodes in a dedicated page on the AAT website.
We hope you enjoy listening to them as much as we enjoyed making them, and would love to hear your feedback.
